Lithium hydroxide, 56.5% min LiOH
Battery Technical Grade - 56.5% min
Lithium hydroxide is an inorganic salt with the formula LiOH that occurs as a white crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water and is a highly corrosive compound. Lithium hydroxide is used primarily in the production of lithium-ion batteries, as well as in the manufacture of high-temperature lubricants and greases.
The SQM Lithium company in Chile produces lithium hydroxide with a minimum purity of 56.5%. The production process begins with the extraction of brine from the Salar de Atacama, located in northern Chile. The brine is then processed at the SQM Lithium production plant in the city of Antofagasta, where various chemical processes are carried out to obtain high-purity lithium hydroxide.
The production process begins with the purification of the brine through a chemical precipitation process. Then, crystallization and separation of lithium hydroxide from the rest of the brine components is carried out. Finally, the lithium hydroxide is dried and packaged for subsequent sale and distribution to the clients of the SQM Lithium company. The lithium hydroxide produced by SQM Lithium is used in a wide variety of industrial applications, such as the production of batteries, lubricants, and high-temperature greases.
