Sodium Chloride or NaCl is obtained from different processes both in Salar de Atacama and from the Lithium Chemical Plant.
This salt has a variety of industrial and production uses in different sectors: road, chemical, aquaculture, water treatment, livestock feed, and copper mining, among others. In the latter, it is particularly used intensively in leaching processes because its use increases copper recovery in primary and secondary sulfides, along with reducing process times and sulfuric acid consumption.
