Bischofite

Bischofite produced by SQM Lithium in the Atacama Salt Flat in dry state for road and industrial applications

Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate (MgCl2×6H2O), known as Bischofite, is an element with a high presence in nature and the third most abundant in seawater.

Thanks to the unique climatic conditions at the production site, SQM's operation in the Salar de Atacama (Chile) allows Bischofite to be obtained in a dry state, something that is not possible anywhere else in the world. It is mainly used in the road industry for dust suppression, road stabilization, ice control and de-icing.
