NCh3262 Certification
Gender equality and the reconciliation of work, family and personal life
This certification is based on a comprehensive system that considers four main axes: gender equality, inclusion of the LGTBIQ+ community, people with disabilities and indigenous peoples. In addition, it is aligned with international standards such as IRMA and the policies of the Ministry of Mining. For more than 10 months, SQM Litio exhaustively reviewed its labor policies and practices, highlighting initiatives such as training for women in STEM careers, work with communities and infrastructure improvements.
This recognition positions SQM Litio as a benchmark in gender equality in Chilean mining, marking a milestone by promoting a more inclusive and sustainable work environment that extends its impact to the community level.
Our Commitment:
At SQM Litio we reaffirm our commitment to gender equality and the reconciliation of work, family and personal life, following the Chilean Standard NCh3262. Through this standard, we continuously work to transform our organizational management, ensuring equality and equity in every process and action within our company. This commitment not only guides our internal policies, but also sets a standard for the mining industry in Chile.
Our goal for the future:
We aim to offer our employees a work environment based on equality, equity and respect, where each person has the necessary conditions to develop fully. In 2025, our goal is to maintain the good practices achieved so far and revalidate our certification in 2026, extending this approach to new operational areas.
Progress and Current Actions:
- Gender Equality and Reconciliation Management System (SGIGC): We are continuously working on the implementation and strengthening of this system, ensuring compliance with the standards defined by NCh3262.
- Female Participation: We have increased female representation from 17% in 2021. Today we aim for 25% by 2025, and we continue to promote the incorporation of more women in key roles. For 2026, we hope to continue these practices and be able to continue increasing the percentage of female representation in the company.
- Inclusive Practices: We implement policies that promote equality, conciliation and equitable professional development for all, maintaining an environment of respect and diversity.
In 2025, we not only seek to maintain our certification standard, but also to be leaders in promoting gender equality and work-life balance within and outside our organization. We look to 2026 with the certainty that we will renew this commitment, moving towards more inclusive, equitable and sustainable mining.
