ISO 14001 STANDARD

Environmental Management Systems (EMS) standard that enables companies to demonstrate their responsibility and commitment to environmental protection by managing environmental risks that may arise from their business activities.

Our Commitment: Through this standard, we seek to manage and identify the environmental risks of our industry, considering risk prevention as well as environmental protection, following the legal regulations and socioeconomic needs required for compliance.

The international standard ISO 14001 was developed in response to global environmental concerns and the proliferation of regional environmental regulations. In this context, the need arose for a universal indicator to evaluate organizations' efforts to achieve reliable and adequate environmental protection.

Through this standard, we seek to manage and identify the environmental risks of our industry, considering risk prevention as well as environmental protection, following the legal regulations and socioeconomic needs required for compliance.

Commitments

Implement this standard at the Tocopilla, Salar del Carmen, Salar de Atacama and Coya Sur sites.

Progress report

2023: The Salar de Atacama and Lithium Chemical Plant (Carmen) operations obtained ISO 14001:2015 certification, meeting the requirements of this standard and valid from 2023-02-09 to 2026-02-08. See SQM Litio ISO 14001:2015 Certification.
